François Vidal was born in the Verdun district of Montreal in 1955. Raised in St-Léonard, he dedicates most of his time working in Montreal's nightclubs while nourishing his passion for the visual arts as an amateur. In 2003, he radically decides to reorient himself and leaves his night life behind to enroll at Université du Québec à Montréal in order to complete a certificate. He graduates in 2007. In 2009, he perfects his talent for sketching live models at the National Institute of Fine Arts of Paris. His works are a mixture of techniques ranging from staining to glaze. His approach consists of superposing the different layers of primary colors combined and applied with the use of spatulas (or knives). He also works with pencils and brushes. He exposes, for this premier exhibition on October 7, 2010 an anthology of about thirty works in constant movement, vibrations, emotions with the power of immense evocations. One man, one life, his work.
